Negotiations with the government are successful, Goods Transporters Association announces end to strike
President of the Goods Transporters Association Malik Shahzad has announced that they are ending the strike on the basis of the promises made by the government.
The President of the Goods Transporters Association said that all our demands have been accepted.
It should be noted that the transporters had sought other concessions including reduction in heavy fines, increase in vehicle load.
The goods transporters’ strike has severely affected the work at the Karachi port, the movement of ships has come to a halt, one ship is waiting at the Karachi port and two ships are waiting for trucks at the clinker port outside the port.
It should be noted that the access of raw materials to the industries has been suspended due to the goods transport strike.

President of Iron Merchants Hammad Poonawalla said that due to the goods transport strike, there is a risk of industries closing down due to non-availability of goods, iron traders and importers of other goods are losing billions.
