Indian national arrested for facilitating human trafficking in the UK
The National Crime Agency (NCA) and West Midlands Police raided a house in Handsworth, an inner-city area of Birmingham, and arrested the suspect.
According to media reports, the suspect has been arrested on suspicion of facilitating illegal immigration and is still in custody where he is being questioned by NCA and West Midlands Police investigating officers.
A number of electronic devices were also seized during the raid, which are being forensically examined to obtain more evidence about the network and its associates.
British authorities say that the suspect is suspected of being linked to an organised crime network that illegally transports people to the UK.
Authorities say the arrest is part of a national campaign by British law enforcement agencies aimed at cracking down on those promoting illegal migration through social media platforms.
