Bruce Springsteen Drops Protest Anthem “Streets of Minneapolis” Against ICE
Bruce Springsteen has released a powerful new protest song, Streets of Minneapolis, responding to recent ICE raids and the tragic deaths of Alex Pretti and Renée Good in Minnesota. Recorded immediately after the shootings, the track calls out government enforcement as “King Trump’s private army” and stands in solidarity with Minneapolis residents and immigrant communities.
The 76-year-old rock icon references patriotic imagery and the U.S. national anthem, blending protest and remembrance. The song’s cover features black-and-white protest imagery with the words “ICE OUT.” Springsteen has long woven social commentary into his music, from Born in the U.S.A. to Streets of Philadelphia.
Minneapolis leaders are urging the federal government to end ICE operations in the city, while Trump has not commented on the song’s release.
