Khawaja Asif said that until the powers are transferred to the people, this house will remain meaningless. Look at the irony. Whenever dictators come, they introduce empowered local government. Ayub Khan, Zia-ul-Haq and Musharraf held local body elections. We do not hold local government elections. Even when the election schedule comes, we make excuses. Local government must be strengthened for the survival of our country and system.

The Defense Minister said that the current president in China emerged through a political process. Leadership is created from local government and moves forward through such a process. The fire incident is a sign of the destruction of our system. Local government must be strengthened to strengthen the people in the country. It is desirable that there should be a strong local government system so that the country can move forward. There should be such an education system that the new generation recognizes the provinces, including the federation. A uniform education system makes a nation, but this could not happen.

He further said that such a system should be created now so that powers go from the province to the tehsil and ward levels. If this continues, then in the end the fire brigade of the Ministry of Defense will come to put out the fire. Decisions will have to be made now for the stability of Pakistan.

Talking to Geo News at the Parliament House, Khawaja Asif said that the government is serious in negotiations with PTI, but I do not think that PTI is serious in negotiations. The reason for this is that PTI speaks four or five languages. PTI people speak in French, English, Punjabi and Urdu. Which language should we understand them? Tell us which language should we trust. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and those sitting in the assembly are speaking different languages.

He said that those who sit outside and abuse, first of all, their language must be restrained, those who sit outside and speak against Pakistan are speaking of their own free will, people from outside are sitting and abusing people under a regular strategy.

The Defense Minister said that PTI wants to keep its space to backtrack and double down, this is only a reflection of PTI's intention, if PTI has the intention, negotiations can also be held and their slander can also come out, the malice of PTI is not ending, this is a game of cards and everyone is playing together.

Khawaja Asif said, tell me why a majority party has not made its own leader of the opposition? Mahmood Khan Achakzai has been made the opposition leader, he is my brother and I respect Mahmood Achakzai a lot, I may disagree with his politics but I have a great brotherly relationship with him, it is a very good thing that he has become the opposition leader, I welcome him.

He said that Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif give me the right to disagree with them, although no prime minister gives his ministers or workers as much space as Shehbaz Sharif does. These people are a role model in Pakistani politics.
