NEPRA approves government request for basic tariff
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved the government’s request for basic electricity tariff across the country.
NEPRA has approved the government’s request for basic electricity tariff in the country, under which the basic electricity tariff will remain the same for the entire country, including K-Electric.
NEPRA sent the decision on the basic tariff to the government, after which the federal government will issue a notification of the basic tariff.
According to the announcement, the new electricity tariff will be implemented from January 1, 2026. The higher electricity tariff for domestic consumers remains at Rs 47.69, while the tariff for protected consumers from one to 100 units has been maintained at Rs 10.54.
In addition, the tariff for 101 to 200 units has been maintained at Rs 13.01. NEPRA held a hearing today on the request regarding the uniform tariff sent by the government.
