UAE Rejects Use of Its Territory for Any Attacks on Iran
The United Arab Emirates has said it will not permit its territory, airspace, or waters to be used to launch attacks against Iran, according to a statement released Monday by the foreign ministry.
The announcement follows remarks made last week by former US President Donald Trump, who said a US “armada” was moving toward the Gulf amid heightened scrutiny of Iran after a violent crackdown on protesters.
The UAE foreign ministry emphasized that it will neither allow military operations against Iran from its soil nor provide logistical support for such actions. It added that dialogue, de-escalation, respect for international law, and state sovereignty remain the most effective ways to address ongoing regional crises.
Despite hosting thousands of US military personnel at al-Dhafra airbase near Abu Dhabi — one of several American facilities in the Gulf — the UAE reiterated its commitment to avoiding involvement in hostile military actions against Iran.
