Australian Test cricketer Usman Khawaja announces retirement from international cricket
Usman Khawaja will retire after playing the Pink Test of the Ashes series in Sydney. Usman Khawaja, who started first-class cricket at the Sydney Cricket Ground, will retire after playing his 88th Test.
39-year-old Usman Khawaja made his debut in 2011 and scored more than 6,000 runs in a 15-year Test career.
Usman Khawaja left a legacy off the field through the Usman Khawaja Foundation, becoming Australia's first Pakistani-born and first Muslim Test cricketer.
Usman was named the ICC Test Cricketer of the Year in 2023, along with Shane Warne, the Test Cricketer of the Year. He was also part of the Australian team that won the ICC Test Championship in 2023.
Usman Khawaja says that the most prominent feeling is contentment, I am lucky to have played so many matches for Australia, I hope I have inspired people.

Todd Greenberg thanked Usman Khawaja on behalf of Cricket Australia and congratulated him on his achievements.
It should be remembered that Usman Khawaja has played 87 Tests, 40 ODIs and 9 T20 matches, the last Test of the Ashes series will start at SCG from January 4.
