In different areas of the city, the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC), Awami Colony and Surjani Town police have arrested 7 robbers including the injured during alleged encounters and recovered weapons, mobile phones, cash and motorcycles.
According to details, the police party of the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell District West Zone arrested an accused in an injured condition after an alleged encounter near the Zia Colony Cemetery, Sector 4F, Orangi Town on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.
The arrested accused was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment. According to a Karachi police spokesperson, the injured accused has been identified as 35-year-old Ismail Chandio, son of Ali Mardan. A pistol with bullets, mobile phone and cash were recovered from the possession of the accused.
On the other hand, the Awami Colony police arrested 4 robbers including the injured after an alleged encounter near Jalebi Chowk, Korangi No. 5, on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.
The injured suspect was shifted to Jinnah Hospital, identified as 35-year-old Farhan son of Victor.
The other arrested suspects gave their names as Naimatullah, Shahzad and Junaid Ali Shah. Police recovered three pistols with bullets, mobile phones, cash and two motorcycles from the suspects.
Meanwhile, Surjani Town police also arrested two suspects in injured condition after an alleged encounter near Mehboob Shaheed Police Post, Sector 5, on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.
The injured suspects were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment.
According to the spokesperson, the arrested suspects were identified as Muhammad Asif son of Muhammad Manzoor and Daniyal son of Sohail Mirza. Police recovered two pistols with bullets, mobile phones, cash and a motorcycle from their possession.
