Kohistan scandal, accused applies for plea bargain of Rs 14 billion
Qaiser Iqbal, the main accused in the Kohistan financial scandal, has applied to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for a plea bargain of Rs 14 billion.
According to NAB sources, accused Qaiser Iqbal was a head clerk in the C&W department, and there are vehicles, bungalows, plazas, gold and other assets worth Rs 10 billion in the name of the accused and his wife.
According to NAB sources, assets worth Rs 4 billion were purchased in the name of a benami dumper driver.
NAB sources further said that the accused has applied to the National Accountability Bureau for a plea bargain of Rs 14 billion.
It should be noted that earlier, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had arrested 8 main accused in the Kohistan mega corruption scandal of Rs 40 billion, including 2 government officials, 2 bankers and 4 contractors.
