Explosion at Islamabad Imambargah, 31 killed & 169 injured
According to initial reports, the blast occurred at the Tarlai Imambargah located in the Shehzad Town area of the federal capital. Police and rescue teams swiftly reached the site and began emergency response and rescue operations.
Following the incident, an emergency was imposed at major hospitals in Islamabad, including Polyclinic Hospital, Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), and CDA Hospital. A spokesperson for PIMS confirmed that the emergency was enforced on the directives of the hospital’s Executive Director.
The hospital’s main emergency department, along with orthopaedics, burn centre, and neurology units, have been fully activated. The injured are being shifted to PIMS and Polyclinic Hospital for medical treatment.
